Video Editor who edits for fun

We're not looking for years of experience. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves video editing — the kind of person who edits for fun, stays up late perfecting a cut, and can't scroll past a good transition without wondering how it was made.

If you learned editing on your own, through YouTube, courses, or trial and error, and you've already made videos for yourself, friends, clients, or just for practice, we want to see what you've got. No formal experience required. No degree required. Just show us your skill.

You hear back within five business days · the trial task is small, real, and paid

What you'll do
  • Edit engaging short-form video for social: Reels, Shorts, and LinkedIn.
  • Cut long-form YouTube videos and client explainers that hold attention past the first ten seconds.
  • Turn raw founder recordings and Looms into polished, publishable assets.
  • Add cuts, transitions, captions, sound, and effects that keep viewers watching.
  • Build client case study videos from screen recordings and results data.
  • Collaborate with the team async and bring your own creative ideas, not just execute a brief.
What we're looking for
  • A real passion for video editing. You live and breathe it.
  • Hands-on practice, even if it's entirely self-taught or personal projects.
  • Familiarity with at least one editing tool: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Final Cut, After Effects, whatever you use.
  • A good sense of pacing, storytelling, music, and rhythm.
  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow fast.
Bonus, not required
  • Motion graphics or After Effects work.
  • Thumbnail and cover design.
  • Comfortable capturing screen recordings for software explainers.
  • Basic sound design and audio cleanup.
  • Any sense of how YouTube retention graphs read.

Don't just send a resume. Send your work: links to videos you've edited on Drive, YouTube, Instagram, a portfolio, anything. That's what we open first.

The honest bit

What we'll actually look at

We will not read your resume before we watch your work. Here is what we're watching for when we do.

The first three seconds. If the hook is weak, nothing after it matters.
Pacing and rhythm. Whether cuts land with the music or fight it.
Captions and sound. Most people watch on mute, and most editors still forget.
Whether you finished things. Ten polished seconds beats a folder of abandoned projects.
Before you apply

How we actually work

Read this properly. It is the fastest way to tell whether you would enjoy it here or resent it.

Remote-first, genuinely

Not remote-tolerated. There is no office to be seen in and no hours logged. Work where you work best.

Async by default

Loom recordings, screenshots, and short written updates. One scheduled call a week at most, and often not that.

Lean and fast

Small team, no layers. What you ship this week is live this week, not queued behind three approvals.

Direct to the founder

You work with the person who built the agency. Feedback is immediate and specific, and it goes both ways.

Measured on output

Rankings that climb, videos that get watched. Not hours, not activity, not who spoke most in a meeting.

You'll learn fast

SEO, AEO, and how AI engines actually surface answers. This field changes quarterly and we work at the front of it.

Process

How hiring works here

Under two weeks, start to finish. You hear back either way.

1 Day 0

You apply

The form on the role page, or email. A link to your work and a short note. No cover letter.

2 Within 5 days

You hear back

Either way. If it's a no, you get a one-line reason rather than silence.

3 Week 1

A paid trial task

A few hours, close to real client work. Paid whether or not you get the role.

4 Week 2

One call, then an offer

A single conversation with the founder about the task and how you work. No panel rounds.

Reply within five business days

Apply: Video Editor

One form. Send links to videos you've edited and skip the resume entirely — we open the work first and read everything else second.

What gets you a reply
  • Links we can actually open. Drive, YouTube, Instagram, a portfolio, anything public.
  • Tell us which parts you edited if it was a team project.
  • Your best three, not your last thirty.

Prefer email? Send the same thing to careers@thebilliongame.com.

Make sure sharing permissions are open. We will not chase access.

No cover letter needed. No "why do you want to work here" essay.

Got it.

We'll watch your work before we read anything else, and you'll hear back within five business days either way. If it's a fit, the next step is a small paid editing task.
