Founded in 2026, we formalized a practice that had already delivered search programs for more than 100 companies. Most of them came to us for the same reason: search was already their biggest growth channel, and it had stopped behaving the way it used to.

We work across industries rather than specializing in one. A B2B software platform, a clinic group, a retailer, and a marketplace all face the same underlying problem, which is that a machine has to understand what they do before a customer ever will. The tactics change by sector. The discipline does not.

The name

Search is a game of very large numbers. Billions of queries, billions of small decisions about who gets to be the answer. Most companies treat that scale as noise. We treat it as a system with rules that can be learned, tested and played well.

Hence the name.

The people

Ganesh Shanmugam, Founder

Ganesh Shanmugam founded Billion Game after years spent in the parts of SEO most people outsource: indexation troubleshooting, structured data architecture, crawl budget forensics, and programmatic content systems. He has led search programs across five countries and every kind of business model, from subscription software to high-volume retail.

His current focus is Answer Engine Optimization, the work of making a brand retrievable and citable by systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. He argues, occasionally at length, that this is not a new discipline so much as the old one finally being graded honestly.

He also publishes SEO and AI education content in Tamil and English, on the grounds that the best search knowledge should not be locked behind one language. Away from search, he plays chess, which he claims is unrelated to the job and is almost certainly lying about.
