SEO Executive who checks Search Console first

You are the person who wakes up and checks Google Search Console before checking WhatsApp. You will own the entire SEO execution cycle across multiple client accounts, from technical audits and keyword research to content optimisation and performance tracking.

This is not a learn-SEO-on-the-job role. You already know what a canonical tag does, why crawl budget matters, and how to diagnose an indexing issue without Googling it. You will work directly with the founder, ship fast, communicate in screenshots and dashboards instead of paragraphs, and take pride in rankings that climb because of your work.

You hear back within five business days · the trial task is small, real, and paid

What you'll do
  • Run technical SEO audits and fix on-site issues across client websites.
  • Perform keyword research, build content clusters, and plan topical authority strategies.
  • Optimise existing content for featured snippets, AI Overviews, and traditional SERP rankings.
  • Monitor and analyse Google Search Console and GA4 daily. Not weekly. Daily.
  • Implement schema markup, internal linking strategies, and crawl optimisations.
  • Track keyword movements and organic traffic trends, and report wins with data rather than opinions.
  • Collaborate async with the founder. Less Zoom, more Loom.
Must have
  • 1–3 years of hands-on SEO experience. Agency, freelance, or in-house all count.
  • Working proficiency in Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4.
  • Solid understanding of technical SEO: indexing, crawling, site speed, Core Web Vitals, canonical tags, redirects.
  • Experience with keyword research tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Ubersuggest.
  • Ability to write or optimise SEO content that ranks, not just reads well.
  • A problem-solving mindset. You figure things out before asking, and you don't stop until it's fixed.
  • Strong async communication. You document your work, share progress in screenshots, and don't need managing.
Nice to have
  • Exposure to programmatic SEO or large-scale content operations.
  • Familiarity with schema markup and structured data implementation.
  • Understanding of AEO, and how AI platforms pull and surface answers.
  • Experience with Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, or similar tools.
  • Basic HTML and CSS for on-page fixes.

Send a site you worked on and a short note on what you changed and what happened afterwards. One paragraph and a screenshot beats a two-page resume.

The honest bit

This role is NOT for you if

We would rather lose you at this paragraph than three weeks in. Read it honestly.

You spend more time on Reels than on Search Console.
You need a manager to tell you what to do every morning.
You write long messages explaining why something can't be done.
You think SEO is just about keywords and backlinks.
Before you apply

How we actually work

Read this properly. It is the fastest way to tell whether you would enjoy it here or resent it.

Remote-first, genuinely

Not remote-tolerated. There is no office to be seen in and no hours logged. Work where you work best.

Async by default

Loom recordings, screenshots, and short written updates. One scheduled call a week at most, and often not that.

Lean and fast

Small team, no layers. What you ship this week is live this week, not queued behind three approvals.

Direct to the founder

You work with the person who built the agency. Feedback is immediate and specific, and it goes both ways.

Measured on output

Rankings that climb, videos that get watched. Not hours, not activity, not who spoke most in a meeting.

You'll learn fast

SEO, AEO, and how AI engines actually surface answers. This field changes quarterly and we work at the front of it.

Process

How hiring works here

Under two weeks, start to finish. You hear back either way.

1 Day 0

You apply

The form on the role page, or email. A link to your work and a short note. No cover letter.

2 Within 5 days

You hear back

Either way. If it's a no, you get a one-line reason rather than silence.

3 Week 1

A paid trial task

A few hours, close to real client work. Paid whether or not you get the role.

4 Week 2

One call, then an offer

A single conversation with the founder about the task and how you work. No panel rounds.

Reply within five business days

Apply: SEO Executive

One form. Send a site you improved and what you did to it. We'd rather see one real result than a list of tools you've logged into.

What gets you a reply
  • A URL we can check, with what you changed and roughly when.
  • A Search Console or GA screenshot beats a description of one.
  • Name the thing that didn't work too. It reads as experience, not weakness.

Prefer email? Send the same thing to careers@thebilliongame.com.

One example done properly is better than five listed.

No cover letter needed. No "why do you want to work here" essay.

Got it.

You'll hear back within five business days either way. If it's a fit, the next step is a small paid task on a real account, not a hypothetical case study.
